I have a friend who’s an incredible programmer. He works at a big tech company. He’s been there for 15 years or so.
He’s an extreme introvert probably to the point of pathology.
He lives in a fixed up Airstream he refinished right out of college.
He bought the land it sits on for nothing.
He lives in North Georgia which is very remote. He had everything paid off three years out of college.
Since then, he’s invested most of his checks in several tech stocks. Microsoft, Google and Apple. (Maybe more now)
I don’t recall when he started, shortly after he paid off his land if I recall. This approach made him a millionaire a few times over.
He’s a true minimalist. The most expensive possession he has is his loaded Mac Book Pro… which the company paid for. 🙂
So, this isn’t for everyone but this approach will work.
