Full size handguns have mainly become a thing for competition or home defense only use. Most people recommend carrying at most a compact handgun and there is truth to this. For most civilian functions, a compact size handgun will work and its just big enough to fit a ungloved hand comfortably. It’s small enough to be concealed but big enough to be a comfortable shooter.
That is not to say that some people don’t carry full size. The first gun I carried concealed was a Glock 17 and i was perfectly comfortable with it. However it was a tad too big and if you knew where to look, you’d find where I was carrying it on my hip. This is why compact-sub compact handguns are so handy because they eliminate all that extra grip space that a full size takes up.
