Always be practical and price minded about everything but keep one thing that you really love or care about – where price does not matter and sensibility does not matter.
Just One thing where you can spend impractically and where your preference is all that matters.
For instance say – in your case its Smartphones. If Smartphones are your Chosen Vice – go ahead, pay 1.5 Lakhs for an apple, 50,000/- for a One plus – as long as you can afford it – dont think about the practicalities, value for money etc.
However for everything else like Shoes, Jeans, Shirts etc – do think about value for money and be sensible.
For my elder son its watches. He spends insane money on watches though you have far cheaper watches which tell the same time. However that is his Vice. He is careful about everything else and always compares prices etc.
For my second son its Vacations. He has to travel first class and stay in the best resorts. He will save up for it. No question of being practical. Its his chosen Vice. He will wear the cheapest Amazon watches costing 30 bucks or so.
Likewise Select your Vice. One thing in your life where if you can afford it – you dont worry about depreciating assets, if its worth it etc.
For everything else – compare the prices
If Smartphones are not your Vice
It would make no sense to go for a One Plus 9R when you can get a Cheaper Oppo F19 Pro Plus
