If you walk over to the local McDonald’s right now, you’ll probably get a job. It may pay well above minimum wage.
Clearly, since you’re looking for a fast turnaround, college/university doesn’t fit the bill. However, short trade programs often don’t lead to good employment options (and certainly not as good as those for college/university grads).
One employment option is to get into the building trades. However, that can be very hard! They’re the rockstars of the trade world. The advantage is that many have apprenticeship programs that pay, even if not necessarily very much.
But if you just want a job, do what I did: go around to fast food restaurants in your area. I did this during a significant economic downturn, and it took a couple of months to get a job, but eventually, I got one.
