I think Instagram is the coolest app that will go away. Hard to believe but someone needs to call the top.
You see Instagram has been adapting to new technologies for the past Becky. What was once a picture app has now evolved into e-commerce and video sharing. But these are not organic products. They were copied from other platforms like Snapchat and Tik Tok.
I’ve been using Instagram for years and have always noticed its lack of engagement. It only seems like a single-sided interface.
Users are viewing pictures and profiles that have limited ways to engage with the community. You can comment and like pictures but that’s not enough. I want to interact with users like I can on Twitter.
That’s one reason why consumer apps are always under threat. Someone is always creating a better technology.
Let’s use Tik Tok for example.
It is video first. And the younger generation is native to video. This is important to identify.
Past generations grew up with still images and the new generation grew up with streaming videos.
So I bet in five years Instagram will no longer be the most popular social media app on your phone. I think it will continue to decline and Facebook will have to acquire another platform in this business to grow.
