Apple computer (and other stuff in general) aren’t actually that much more expensive than their PC counterparts.
An Apple computer
Sure, certain Apple peripherials are overpriced, but on the whole, Apples cost about the same as PCs with the same specifications – however Apples are usually better than comparible PCs, because Apple invests time and resources at making sure you’re getting a combination that also syncs well with itself. Not all hardware will work well with all other hardware and with Apple, you’re actually getting a little more out than what the raw specifications imply.
What makes Apples pricey is that it doesn’t have any low-end models. Apple models start off at the pricier range and there’s nowhere but up from there. That’s why they appear more expensive than their PC counterparts, there are no cheap models for you to choose from.
Because most people (including myself) have little to no use for high-end machines, Apples are just an unnecessary expense. Sure it’s a great computer, but if I need only about 80% of what this machine at half the price of the cheapest Apple can do for me then an Apple is just a waste of money.
It’s not a waste of money if you know why you need a machine like that. Most people don’t.
